Scooby Doo Review - Theatre

Milton Keynes Theatre

Any theatre production that includes the line; "Velma's Pirate Lane of Doom", is sure to amuse even the coldest of theatre goers. Be you 5 or 50, this can't fail to be entertaining by the pure energy and the "Scooby Snackiness" of this show.

Scooby’s adventure is set on a tropical island typically far from peaceful and idyllic surrounds because of The Mystery Inc. Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred encounter the Pirate Queen and her ghostly crew wreaking havoc on the island.  The action comes thick and fast with ghostly goings-on and supernatural scenarios with the gang reassuringly unmasking the villains at just the right time. This hilarious physical comedy with groovy music and magical effects left me and my children happily spooked and on the edge of our seat!

The show has plenty of pirate flavoured audience participation, with a dashes of creepiness making this a definite must for a good night of family entertainment.  Buckets of energy from the cast thankfully wore off on the little ones, who were zonked and in bed within five minutes of getting home.

You can forgive the slight disjointed approach to the dialogue, but hey, you’re in it for the scoobyness right?

This is a fantastic night out for the whole family in the fantastic venue that is Milton Keynes Theatre."
